About XL4015 5A DC-DC Buck Converter Module with Heatsink.
The XL4015 is a high-current adjustable step-down (buck) converter for projects that draw more current than a standard LM2596 module can comfortably handle. Rated for up to 5A with its fitted heatsink, it delivers a stable, efficient lower voltage from a higher DC source.
A multi-turn trimmer sets the output anywhere from about 1.25V to 36V, from an input of roughly 4V to 38V, switching at 180kHz. The onboard aluminium heatsink lets it sustain higher currents than the smaller LM2596 board, making it a favourite for powering strips of LEDs, motors and higher-draw electronics.
At around Rs 130 it offers a lot of current capacity for the money and is widely stocked in India. Many XL4015 boards also come in a version with a current-limit trimmer for basic constant-current charging, useful for battery and LED work.

Buying guide
How to choose.
Choose the XL4015 over the LM2596 when your load can draw more than about 2-3A, or when you want extra thermal headroom. The larger board and heatsink let it run heavier loads without overheating, though good airflow is still wise near the full 5A rating.
It is buck-only: the output must be below the input. Set the voltage with a multimeter on the trimmer before connecting your circuit. If your board has a second trimmer it is for current limiting (constant current); leave it at maximum unless you specifically want to limit charge current.
Pair it with a heatsink-friendly enclosure or a small fan for sustained high-current use, thick input/output wiring, and a multimeter to set voltage (and current limit if fitted).

How is this different from the LM2596 module?
Both are adjustable buck converters, but the XL4015 handles up to 5A with a heatsink versus the LM2596's ~3A limit, and is more efficient. Choose the XL4015 for higher-current loads and better thermal headroom.
Can it really deliver 5A continuously?
5A is the peak rating with the heatsink; for sustained loads keep well within it and ensure good airflow, ideally derating to around 3-4A continuous to keep temperatures safe.
Does it step voltage up?
No, it is a step-down (buck) converter only. The output is always lower than the input. Use an MT3608 boost or XL6009 buck-boost if you need to raise voltage.
What is the second potentiometer for?
On current-limit XL4015 variants the second trimmer sets a maximum output current (constant-current mode), handy for charging batteries or driving LEDs. If you only need voltage regulation, turn it fully up.
