SKU: BOTBIT-PWR-04 · Best for: Powering both rails of a breadboard during prototyping
Overview
About MB102 Breadboard Power Supply Module (3.3V/5V).
The MB102 breadboard power supply module clips directly onto a full-size solderless breadboard and feeds both power rails with regulated 3.3V and 5V. It removes the need to hunt for a bench supply during prototyping: plug in a DC barrel jack or USB cable, flip the switch, and both rails are powered.
Each of the module's two rails can be independently set to 3.3V, 5V or off using onboard jumpers, so you can run mixed-voltage circuits, for example a 3.3V ESP8266 alongside 5V logic, from a single board. A USB Type-A output and header pins let you tap the same regulated supply for off-board use.
At around Rs 60 it is a cheap, convenient bench companion for students and hobbyists across India. It is built to sit on the standard 830-point MB102 breadboard and is one of the most common items on any beginner's prototyping desk.

Applications
Where it is used.
- Powering both rails of a breadboard during prototyping
- Running mixed 3.3V and 5V circuits from one supply
- Bench power for Arduino, ESP8266/ESP32 and sensor experiments
- Feeding logic ICs, LEDs and small modules on a breadboard
- Classroom and lab kits needing a simple, safe power source
- USB-out tap for a regulated 5V/3.3V feed to off-board circuits
Buying guide
How to choose.
Buy this module if you prototype on a breadboard and want quick, dual-voltage power without a bench supply. The ability to set each rail independently to 3.3V or 5V is what makes it so useful for mixed-logic projects.
Feed it from a 9V or 12V DC adapter through the barrel jack for the most stable output, or use USB for convenience. Remember it is a light-duty supply: it delivers up to about 700mA total and is not meant for motors, high-power LEDs or anything that draws heavy current, use an LM2596 or XL4015 buck module for that.
Pair it with an 830-point MB102 breadboard (many kits bundle both), a set of jumper wires, and a 9-12V DC adapter.
FAQ
Common questions.
What input do I need to power it?
Use a 6.5-12V DC adapter through the barrel jack (a 9V or 12V supply works well) or feed 5V through the USB input. The barrel jack gives more headroom for stable 5V and 3.3V output.
Can each rail be a different voltage?
Yes. Each of the two rails has its own jumper and can be independently set to 3.3V, 5V or OFF, so you can run 3.3V on one side and 5V on the other.
How much current can it supply?
It is rated up to about 700mA total. It is meant for logic, sensors, LEDs and small modules, not motors or high-power loads. For higher current use a dedicated buck converter.
Will it fit my breadboard?
It is designed for the standard full-size 830-point MB102 breadboard, plugging directly onto the power rails. It may not fit narrow half-size boards.
What is in the box?
You receive the MB102 power supply module itself with jumpers fitted; the DC adapter and breadboard are usually sold separately unless bought as a kit.
