The DSO138 is the classic pocket-sized DIY oscilloscope kit that has taught thousands of Indian hobbyists both soldering and scope basics at once. Built around an STM32 (ARM Cortex-M3) microcontroller and a 2.4-inch colour TFT display, it is a single-channel digital storage oscilloscope you assemble yourself - a genuinely useful bench tool and a rewarding weekend build.
It offers 0-200kHz analog bandwidth and 1Msps real-time sampling, enough to see and measure audio-range and low-frequency digital signals, capture single-shot events, and read voltage/frequency/period on screen. The time base runs from 10us/div to 50s/div and vertical sensitivity from 10mV/div to 5V/div, with a 12-bit ADC.
At around Rs 1350 it is far cheaper than a bench scope and, because you build it, you learn how a scope works from the inside. It is the go-to first oscilloscope for students, electronics beginners and anyone who wants a compact scope for slow signals.

Buying guide
How to choose.
Choose the DSO138 if you want an inexpensive, portable scope for slow signals and enjoy building your own gear. It is single-channel with 200kHz bandwidth - perfect for audio, sensors, PWM and learning, but not for fast digital or RF work where you need MHz-class bandwidth and two channels.
Kits come in two flavours: fully DIY (you solder all through-hole parts; the SMD parts are usually pre-soldered) or a pre-assembled/welded version if you do not want to solder. Beginners comfortable with a soldering iron should take the DIY route for the learning value; add the acrylic case for protection.
Pair it with the included probe, a 9V DC supply or 9V battery clip (the kit needs ~9V, not always included), and a soldering iron kit (BOTBIT-PWR-15) if you are assembling it. For protocol-level digital debugging, add a logic analyzer (BOTBIT-PWR-13).
FAQ
Common questions.
Do I have to solder the kit myself?
The standard DIY kit requires you to solder the through-hole components; on most current kits the tricky SMD parts come pre-soldered. If you prefer not to solder, choose the pre-assembled/welded version if available.
What is the real bandwidth - can it see fast signals?
Analog bandwidth is 0-200kHz with 1Msps sampling. It is ideal for audio, sensor and low-frequency work. It cannot properly display fast digital edges, high-speed SPI or RF - use a higher-bandwidth scope for those.
What power supply does it need?
It runs on about 9V DC (roughly 8-12V). A 9V DC adapter or a 9V battery with a barrel/clip lead works; the supply is not always included, so check your kit and add one if needed.
Is it available and supported in India?

What is in the box?
A DIY version includes the PCB(s), all components, the 2.4-inch TFT and a test probe. Depending on the seller you may also get an acrylic case; the 9V power supply is usually purchased separately.
