This USB logic analyzer is the low-cost tool every embedded developer in India ends up owning. It captures 8 digital channels at up to 24MHz and streams them over USB to your PC, where software decodes the traffic - letting you literally see the bits on I2C, SPI, UART and other digital buses instead of guessing.
The hardware is compatible with the popular open-source Sigrok/PulseView software and the Saleae Logic application, so you get powerful, free protocol decoders without paying for an expensive analyzer. Connect the flying leads to your signals and ground, arm a capture, and you can zoom into individual clock edges and decode frames in seconds.

Buying guide
How to choose.
Buy this if you work with digital buses and need to see what is actually on the wire. It is aimed at 3.3V/5V logic on hobby and embedded boards; it is a logic analyzer, not an oscilloscope, so it shows highs and lows and decoded protocol - not analog waveform shape.
The 24MHz rate is plenty for I2C (100k/400k/1MHz), most UART and moderate SPI. For very fast SPI (tens of MHz) you want to sample well above the clock, so mind the rule of thumb of sampling at least 4x the fastest signal. For higher speeds, step up to a faster analyzer.
Pair it with PulseView (free) or Saleae Logic on your PC and a set of test-clip leads. It complements a DSO138 or bench scope nicely: use the scope for analog signal integrity and this for protocol decode.
FAQ
Common questions.
What software do I use with it?
The free, open-source Sigrok/PulseView is the most common choice and includes protocol decoders. The device is also recognised by the Saleae Logic software. Both run on Windows, Linux and macOS.
Can it read 5V logic or only 3.3V?
The inputs are 3.3V logic-level and are generally tolerant of 5V signals, so it works with both 3.3V and 5V boards. For anything above ~5V use level shifting or a proper probe.
Is this an oscilloscope?
No. It only shows digital high/low states and decodes protocols - it cannot display analog waveform shape or measure voltage. Use a DSO138 or bench scope for analog signal analysis.
Do I need drivers, and does it work in India out of the box?
It is a standard FX2LP-based analyzer widely used in India. On Windows you install the Zadig/WinUSB driver for PulseView; Saleae's app bundles its own. No external power is needed - it runs off USB.
What is in the box?
The analyzer unit plus a set of flying-lead jumper wires (usually with grabber/clip ends) and a USB cable. Software is downloaded free from the sigrok or Saleae websites.
