Overview
About Custom Multirotor UAV (configured to mission).
The BotBit Custom Multirotor UAV is a mission-configured rotary-wing aircraft (quad, hexa or octo-rotor) built to a specific operational brief rather than sold as a fixed catalogue model. Because every airframe, propulsion set, autopilot and payload bay is selected against your requirement, the same platform family can be tuned for close-range precision inspection, aerial cinematography, security overwatch, mapping of complex sites or short-range payload delivery. Multirotors excel where vertical take-off and landing, stable hover, and the ability to hold position over a target matter more than long endurance.
Each build is centred on an open, industry-standard flight stack (ArduPilot or PX4 running on Pixhawk/CubePilot-class autopilots), which lets us implement autonomous waypoint missions, return-to-home, geofencing and failsafe logic. For demanding roles we specify redundancy: dual or triple IMUs, redundant GNSS and compass, redundant power paths and independent telemetry links, so a single-point failure does not end the flight. Payload options span EO/IR gimbals, thermal cameras, multispectral and LiDAR sensors, RTK GNSS for centimetre-grade positioning, and downlink/comms packages sized to your range budget.
It is built for surveyors, inspection contractors, security and public-safety teams, agri-tech operators, research groups and industrial asset owners who need a repeatable, supportable platform rather than a consumer drone. We scope endurance, MTOW, payload, range and redundancy up front, then deliver a configuration you can operate and maintain. Because this is a quote/RFQ product, pricing and lead time follow the agreed specification. In India, we help you align the build to DGCA Drone Rules 2021 - UIN registration on Digital Sky/eGCA, category-appropriate type certification and Remote Pilot Certificate operation.
Key features
Why it stands out.
Configured per mission - airframe size, motor/ESC set, payload bay and comms are chosen against your endurance, MTOW and range brief
Runs a proven ArduPilot or PX4 flight stack for autonomous waypoint missions, geofencing, return-to-home and failsafe behaviour
Optional redundancy on IMU, GNSS, compass, power and telemetry for higher-assurance and BVLOS-track operations
Payload-agnostic bays for EO/IR gimbals, thermal, multispectral, LiDAR and RTK positioning, with India DGCA-aligned compliance guidance

Applications
Where it is used.
- Detailed asset and structure inspection (towers, bridges, solar farms, industrial plants) requiring hover and close approach
- Security, perimeter overwatch and public-safety response over fixed sites or events
- Photogrammetry and mapping of small or complex sites where manoeuvrability beats coverage
- Precision agriculture scouting, crop health and targeted survey of smaller parcels
- Aerial cinematography, media and inspection where stable, repeatable camera positioning is essential
- Short-range payload transport, sensor drops and research/academic UAV programmes
Buying guide
How to choose.
Start your RFQ by describing the mission, not a part list. Tell us the primary task (inspection, mapping, security, delivery, research), the payload you need to carry (make/weight of camera, sensor or cargo), the endurance and range you expect from a single flight, and the environment - urban, remote, high-altitude, coastal or dusty. Note whether operations are within visual line of sight or whether you need to plan toward BVLOS, since that drives redundancy and comms choices.
Share any constraints that shape the airframe: maximum take-off weight limits, transport and deployment (backpack vs vehicle-mounted case), whether you need RTK-grade positioning, and how many units you'll operate. If you already run a fleet or a ground-control standard, tell us so we can match your flight stack and workflow. The more of this you provide, the tighter and faster the quotation.
For India, plan for compliance from day one. We help align your configuration to DGCA Drone Rules 2021 - obtaining a UIN on Digital Sky/eGCA, the category-appropriate route to type certification, and operating under a Remote Pilot Certificate from a DGCA-authorised RPTO. We can advise on green/yellow/red airspace zones and the additional permissions BVLOS operations require, but airspace clearances remain the operator's responsibility.
FAQ
Common questions.
Why is there no fixed price?
Because a multirotor built for confined-space inspection is a different machine from one built for long endurance mapping or heavy payload lift. Airframe, propulsion, autopilot, redundancy and sensors are all selected against your brief, so pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send us your mission requirements and we'll return a scoped, itemised quotation.
What payloads can it carry?
Payload bays are configured around your sensor or cargo: EO/IR gimbals, thermal and multispectral cameras, LiDAR, RTK GNSS modules, or task-specific equipment. Capacity is set during scoping - we size the airframe and propulsion to your payload weight and endurance target rather than forcing your payload onto a fixed frame.
Does it fly autonomous missions?
Yes. Builds run ArduPilot or PX4 on a Pixhawk/CubePilot-class autopilot, supporting autonomous waypoint missions, geofencing, return-to-home and configurable failsafes. Higher-assurance builds can add redundant IMUs, GNSS, compass, power and telemetry so a single failure does not end the flight.
Is it legal to operate in India?
Operating a multirotor in the Small category and above requires a UIN registered on Digital Sky/eGCA and a Remote Pilot Certificate from a DGCA-authorised RPTO, with the model type-certified as applicable. We help align your build to DGCA Drone Rules 2021, but airspace permissions (green/yellow/red zones) and flight clearances remain the operator's responsibility.
Can it do BVLOS operations?
It can be configured toward BVLOS - with redundant comms, robust datalinks and additional failsafes - but BVLOS itself needs specific DGCA approval and is not automatic. Tell us during scoping if BVLOS is a goal so we build in the right redundancy and communications architecture from the start.
How do I get started?
Send an RFQ describing your mission, payload, endurance, range and operating environment, plus any fleet or compliance constraints. We scope a configuration, quote price and lead time, and advise on the DGCA registration and certification path relevant to your category.
