About EO/IR Payload.
An EO/IR payload is a stabilised, gimballed camera pod that combines an electro-optical (EO) sensor for daylight and zoom imaging with an infrared (IR) thermal sensor for low-light and night imaging. Mounted under a UAV, vehicle or fixed mast, it lets an operator observe, identify and track a scene in both visible and thermal channels from a stand-off distance, with gyro stabilisation keeping the image steady while the platform moves. What is the difference between uncooled LWIR and cooled MWIR payloads?
