The TBS Crossfire Nano RX is a long-range UHF control receiver from Team BlackSheep, designed to pair with a Crossfire transmitter module for rock-solid R/C control of FPV drones and long-range aircraft. Operating in the 868/915MHz band, it is one of the smallest full-range receivers in the industry at just 11 x 18 x 11mm and roughly 0.5g, making it ideal for tight micro and freestyle builds where space and weight are at a premium. Despite its size, it offers genuine long-range performance up to tens of kilometres with appropriate antennas and settings.

The Nano RX outputs the high-bandwidth, low-latency CRSF protocol natively, and also supports SBUS, PPM and PWM, so it integrates with virtually any modern flight controller. It supports up to 12 channels and provides a back-channel for telemetry, feeding battery, RSSI/LQ and GPS data back to your radio. As part of the Crossfire ecosystem it benefits from frequency-agile, robust link technology and over-the-air firmware updates via the TBS Agent tools.

Understand that the Crossfire Nano RX is a control-link (R/C) receiver, not a MAVLink data telemetry modem. It carries stick commands and a telemetry back-channel to your radio, while autopilot telemetry to a GCS still uses a separate radio such as the SiK or RFD modems. Many long-range builds use both together.

The Nano RX requires a matching TBS Crossfire transmitter module (full-size or Nano TX) on your radio; it will not work standalone. Budget for the TX module if you are not already in the Crossfire ecosystem, and keep both ends on compatible firmware via the TBS Agent tools.

It operates in the 868/915MHz UHF band. Confirm the legal allocation and permitted power for long-range control in India before operating, and choose the correct regional firmware/band setting. Is the Crossfire Nano RX a telemetry modem?

No. It is a long-range R/C control receiver that carries stick commands plus a telemetry back-channel to your radio. Autopilot-to-GCS MAVLink telemetry still needs a dedicated data radio such as the Holybro SiK or RFD900-series modems.

Do I need a transmitter module to use it?

Yes. The Nano RX must pair with a TBS Crossfire transmitter module (full-size or Nano TX) on your radio; it cannot operate standalone. Keep both ends on compatible firmware using the TBS Agent configuration tools.

Which flight controllers does it work with?

It outputs CRSF natively and also supports SBUS, PPM and PWM, so it works with virtually any modern flight controller. CRSF is preferred for low latency and to enable the telemetry back-channel.
